The total project cost is estimated at around Rs. 1,800 Crores and is proposed to be financed at a Debt Equity Ratio of 70:30 with equity/sub-ordinate debt from promoters of Rs. 540 Crores and senior debt of Rs. 1,260 Crores.

Opencast mining method has been adopted for both Kapurdi and Jalipa mining blocks due to multi seam deposit. The mining is being done by conventional Shovel and Dumper combination.

The price of lignite would be passed on into the tariff (on cost plus basis) for sale of Power to the State Discoms from the pithead Power Plant of RWPL.

The Company has already got the approval for Mining Plans for both the mines from Ministry of Coal, GoI and received the Environmental Clearances from Ministry of Environment and Forest,GoI .

RSMML has entered into a mining lease agreement with GoR for Kapurdi lignite mining block on December 21, 2010 and the same was transferred to BLMCL in October 2011.

Lignite dispatch has started from October, 2011 from Kapurdi mining block.
